The Unit for Work Rehabilitation and Employment (EAS) targets individuals aged 18 and older with mental health issues.

The unit consists of four initiatives: FRI, Överstens Garden Center, Support in Work, and Killstad Farm. Our mission is to create conditions and employment opportunities for the individuals we meet, enabling them to achieve self-sufficiency through work, studies, or other means of support.

The FRI initiative is aimed at individuals who, due to mental health issues, are unable to break isolation and leave their homes. The goal is for participants to engage in activities, break isolation, and progress to other initiatives within the department. Outreach work is enhanced through the “Preparatory Project, Karlstad,” funded by the coordination association Samspelet.

We believe that respectful communication and a relationship-building approach, combined with meaningful employment, can help break individuals' isolation.

Job Responsibilities

As a work consultant in FRI, you will work alongside a colleague to support participants in breaking isolation, engaging in activities, and gradually moving towards the goal of self-sufficiency.

The work includes, among other things:

• Planning and conducting activities, often incorporating wellness and outdoor life, both individually and in groups
• Performing outreach and motivational work for individuals receiving financial assistance who are currently unable to leave their homes and access services
• Collaboration with colleagues in the administration as well as with external actors such as Region Värmland, the Social Insurance Agency, and the Employment Service
• Participating in medical visits, SIP meetings, and other contacts that support the participant's progression
• Documentation and administrative tasks within the scope of the assignment

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or behavioral scientist with experience as a social worker within social services. Other relevant education, at least three years at the university level, may be assessed as equivalent along with experience in the field. In this role, you need to have a good understanding of social services' work and our target group. Experience as a social worker is important as you will work closely with authority enforcement, meet individuals with complex needs, and collaborate with multiple actors regarding participants' progression.

Experience in wellness and outdoor activities in work with individuals or groups is an advantage.

You have:

• Good communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
• Experience working with individuals with mental health issues
• Knowledge of labor market actors, social services' mission, and pathways to care and support
• The ability to work pedagogically, motivationally, and solution-focused

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Drive, flexibility, empathy, and a professional demeanor are central to the role.

The work requires that you enjoy combining administrative tasks with practical outdoor work and that you can adapt activities to participants' needs and the seasons.

You should have good computer skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

A driver's license for manual transmission is required.

The employment is a project position currently extending until 261231.

The goal is to continue operations even after 2026, provided that the project receives continued funding from the coordination association Samspelet.
